Union Square Apartments, located at 308 W. Union Street in Medina, Ohio, is a residential community dedicated to providing safe, supportive, and stable housing for low-income individuals, families, seniors, and persons with disabilities. Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in human services or related field
  • Minimum three years experience working with low-income, senior, or disabled populations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work part-time (14 hours per week)
  • Ability to establish trusting relationships and advocate for residents

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in human services or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum three years experience serving low-income individuals, families, seniors, or persons with disabilities
  • Knowledge of community support services and eligibility requirements
  • Experience working directly with older persons or families in advocacy and community building
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data management tools
  • Strong ability to build trusting relationships with residents
  • Effective listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate and adjust service delivery
  • Counseling and advocacy skills to empower residents
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing programs and policies

Job Duties

  • Identifies and links residents to community services that improve housing stability and self-sufficiency
  • Conducts assessments to determine resident goals and needs
  • Creates and maintains a directory of local social service agencies
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professionalism
  • Facilitates community building through resident associations, newsletters, and social programming
  • Advocates and raises awareness among service providers about resident needs
  • Refers residents for case management and provides follow-up to ensure service delivery
  • Assists residents in applying for fair hearings
  • Maintains accurate resident records and completes reports
  • Develops knowledge of housing rules and lease issues
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned
