The position of Resident Chef at Sur La Table plays a critical leadership role within the store, directly contributing to both culinary education and business success. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Culinary degree strongly preferred
- 1-2 years experience as a culinary instructor
- 3-4 years kitchen management experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Proven sales and leadership experience
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Knowledge of food safety standards and local health codes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in variable kitchen environments
Job Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Culinary degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years’ experience as a culinary instructor
- 3-4 years of progressively responsible kitchen management experience
- Valid Food Manager Certification
- Proven sales track record and ability to motivate sales teams
- Strong leadership skills with team development experience
- Excellent communication problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Passion for community engagement and customer experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail systems preferred
Job Duties

- Analyze key performance metrics daily to optimize store performance
- Manage daily store operations ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations
- Maintain inventory control minimize shrink and manage culinary expenses
- Address and resolve customer feedback related to the culinary program
- Ensure store safety cleanliness and timely maintenance
- Maintain integrity of employee records and ensure compliance with wage and hour laws
- Communicate and enforce company policies and standard operating procedures consistently
