Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton is renowned globally as a leader in the luxury hospitality industry, setting unparalleled standards for service and guest experiences. With over 100 award-winning hotels worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton crafts exceptional and memorable moments that guests cherish long after their stay. This prestigious brand is part of Marriott International, a global hospitality giant that values diversity, inclusivity, and career growth opportunities for its associates. Marriott International ensures equal employment opportunities and fosters a welcoming environment where all employees are celebrated for their unique backgrounds and talents. The company is firmly committed to non-discrimination, providing accessible workplace accommodations and promoting a culture where teamwork thrives and individual contributions are recognized.
Located at RC Residences Battery Park in New York City, The Ritz-Carlton is seeking dedicated individuals for the full-time Substitute position in the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category. This non-management role offers an hourly pay range between $30.81 and $41.08 and is pivotal to maintaining the brand's “Gold Standards” of excellence. The role requires a dynamic team player who can handle various guest and resident requests seamlessly, ensuring satisfaction and an outstanding luxury experience.
As a Substitute, your primary focus will be responding to property owners’ inquiries and requests regarding visitor information, special services such as transportation, reservations, and dry cleaning, facilitating procedures, and identifying appropriate service providers when necessary. You will serve as a vital point of contact for Residence owners and their guests, addressing special needs and ensuring their satisfaction through follow-up. You will also gather and provide detailed information about the Residence and the surrounding area, including local events and activities to enrich the guest experience.
Security and access control form a significant part of your duties. You will be responsible for announcing all visitors and contractors to Residence owners before permitting access, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises. Maintaining accurate key tracking systems and processing all calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns promptly and professionally is essential. Coordination with various departments, such as engineering, bell services, and housekeeping, to resolve guest or resident issues is another key function of the role.
Moreover, you will assist in reservations services, elevator bookings for Residence moves, and support valet and bell staff in vehicle requests. Acting as a Lobby Ambassador, you will review and document shift logs and daily memorandums, ensuring proper communication and operational continuity. Reporting accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to management and completing required safety training and certifications are critical to maintaining a safe environment.
The role requires adherence to company policies and maintaining a tidy, professional appearance at all times while protecting proprietary information and company assets. Providing a warm welcome and personalized attention to Residence owners and their guests is fundamental, including assisting guests with disabilities and expressing genuine appreciation in interactions. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—professional telephone etiquette, and fostering positive workplace relationships are vital to success in this position.
Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The ability to perform reasonable additional duties as assigned is also expected, always upholding The Ritz-Carlton’s highest standards of service excellence.
Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a global team that values creation, kindness, and compassion, empowering every associate to reach their fullest potential. The company promises a rewarding career path, opportunities for personal growth, and the pride of contributing to a world-class luxury hospitality experience. This position at the RC Residences Battery Park offers a unique chance to work in one of New York City’s most distinguished luxury residences, delivering exemplary service that aligns with a legendary brand name.
