The Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor role at Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital is a crucial leadership position that offers both professional growth and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient care. This part-time role involves working 12-hour night shifts and offers an hourly pay range of $42.55 to $57.45. As an RN House Supervisor, you will oversee operations across multiple behavioral health units including child, adult, geriatric, and forensic services. The role emphasizes a commitment to superior patient care that exceeds industry standards and patient expectations. Your leadership and clinical expertise will guide nursing staff, ensure safe and appropriate staffing, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards such as those set by The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and state regulations. In addition to the supervisory duties, you will also provide direct patient care as needed, assist with admissions, and foster a therapeutic and safe hospital environment.

Job Requirements
- Current RN license in Massachusetts
- graduation from accredited nursing program
- basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- ability to work part-time night shifts of 12 hours
- strong leadership and communication skills
- experience in behavioral health nursing preferred
- leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
- commitment to patient-centered care
Job Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts
- graduation from an accredited nursing program
- bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
- associate degree in nursing (ADN) accepted
- basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- CPI or Handle With Care certification preferred
- behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred
- strong communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills
- ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment
- commitment to patient-centered and trauma-informed care
Job Duties
- Accurately assess patient care needs and support clinical decision-making across units
- ensure appropriate staffing levels and patient coverage throughout the hospital
- provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to nursing staff
- respond to patient care needs and assist with admissions or intake when needed
- support staff development, coaching, and performance management
- ensure compliance with regulatory standards including TJC, CMS, and state regulations
- assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, and payroll coordination
- perform direct patient care duties as needed
- maintain a safe, therapeutic, and efficient hospital environment
