Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to perform nutrition assessments and interventions
- Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy
- Ability to collaborate in a healthcare team
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
- Availability to work full-time day shifts
- Compliance with licensure requirements based on state or unit
- Physical ability to perform job duties
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
- 3+ years clinical experience
- Knowledge of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy
- Ability to perform nutrition assessments and interventions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office knowledge
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Participation in quality improvement and research activities
- Understanding of electronic health record systems
- Knowledge of patient safety standards
- Commitment to professional development
Job Duties
- Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments
- takes measurements
- reviews medical records
- collects data via interviews
- evaluates anthropometric status
- Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks and problems
- offers nutrition interventions, education, counseling, and referrals
- May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies
- Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques reflecting health literacy and cultural sensitivity
- Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals
- Supervises dietetic interns, registration eligible dietitians and new employees
- participates in research and quality improvement initiatives
- Enters accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
- Enters nutrition orders when authorized
- Participates in patient care rounds and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams
- Promotes evidence-based nutrition care and supports foodservice areas
- Responds promptly to internal communication
- Performs other duties as assigned
