The Regional Safety Manager role at Garney is a pivotal position designed to enhance the safety culture across multiple job sites within the Texas region. This position functions as a key resource and support system for safety managers and construction crews, ensuring that all safety protocols, training, and compliance requirements are met efficiently and effectively. The person in this role will conduct site visits to monitor safety practices, perform audits and inspections, and deliver job-specific certifications and developmental training. The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for planning and conducting safety meetings, compliance training, and helping maintain accurate documentation related to incident management including medical bills, injury reports, insurance claims, and medical clearances.

This role is essential for investigating workplace accidents and incidents with an aim to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Job Requirements

  • Degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or a safety-related degree preferred
  • Must have OSHA 30
  • Must have OSHA 500
  • Must have CHST
  • Train the Trainer level (Competent Person) for Trenching & Excavation and Confined Spaces preferred
  • ASP or CSP preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Willing to travel per job requirements, overseeing the region of Texas
  • Ability to create or draft a project-specific safety plan
  • High-level of communication proficiency and ability to communicate across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships within operations
  • Passion for training and development within safety

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide support to construction crew
  • Visit job sites to monitor sites safety, inspections, and safety audits
  • Manage safety programs, trainings, workshops, and meetings
  • Monitor paperwork related to incident management (medical bills, injury report, insurance claims, or medical clearance)
  • Conduct investigations of workplace accidents and incidents to determine their causes
  • Assist with documentation
