The CDL-A Driver position at Performance Foodservice plays a vital role in the food distribution supply chain by ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers across regional routes. This role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight delivery schedules. With a component pay structure averaging between $90,000 and $100,000, this position also offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus with eligibility terms. Drivers typically work 4 to 5 days per week with shifts starting between 11 PM and 3 AM and may experience 3-5 day layovers due to extensive travel.

As the face of the company, the CDL-A Driver is responsible not only for delivering products but also for building positive customer relationships through professional communication and reliable service. Key duties include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, securing freight properly, verifying delivery paperwork, handling customer returns, and observing safety protocols at all times.
