Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Minimum three years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques, and nutrition
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Craft dessert menus that fit the restaurant concept and locale while collaborating with the Executive Chef
  • Prepare detailed recipe cards and ensure adherence to them for consistency
  • Motivate, teach, and maintain a positive culture among pastry cooks by sharing inspiration and ideas
  • Communicate effectively with other chefs and be receptive to feedback and recipe adjustments
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations adhering to all DHEC regulations including equipment and refrigeration
  • Report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues promptly to the Executive Chef
  • Participate in employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure that the guest experience remains the top priority in all activities
