Located in Bentonville, Arkansas, this role requires candidates to be willing to relocate or live within a commutable distance to the area. The Regional Pastry Chef will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the dessert programs across the company’s restaurants in the region. This leadership position demands a passion for pastry arts, culinary creativity, and a strong dedication to quality and consistency. The role involves collaborating closely with Executive Chefs to craft dessert menus that align with the restaurant concepts and local preferences. In addition to menu development, the Regional Pastry Chef will be responsible for training and inspiring pastry cooks, ensuring standardized recipe execution through detailed recipe cards, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation according to DHEC regulations. Effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience are central to this role. Candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the operational needs of the hospitality venues. This role embodies the blend of culinary artistry and leadership needed to create memorable dessert experiences that enhance the overall dining appeal of IRHG’s establishments.

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a successful pastry chef
  • Minimum three years of experience in a pastry kitchen handling preparation and cooking
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Creative with a problem-solving approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation, sanitation principles, baking techniques, and nutrition
  • Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Craft dessert menus that fit the restaurant concept and locale while collaborating with the Executive Chef
  • Prepare detailed recipe cards and ensure adherence to them for consistency
  • Motivate, teach, and maintain a positive culture among pastry cooks by sharing inspiration and ideas
  • Communicate effectively with other chefs and be receptive to feedback and recipe adjustments
  • Maintain clean and sanitary workstations adhering to all DHEC regulations including equipment and refrigeration
  • Report product shortages, equipment problems, or food quality issues promptly to the Executive Chef
  • Participate in employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
  • Ensure that the guest experience remains the top priority in all activities
