Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • willingness to obtain food safety certification
  • good communication skills
  • physical stamina for kitchen tasks
  • ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
  • commitment to maintaining safety and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • validated knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations and proper food handling
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare diverse dishes
  • ready the workstation with required tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, blend, cut, trim, and peel food items
  • safely handle utensils including knives
  • operate kitchen appliances like ovens, mixers, and cutting machinery
  • apply various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • structure, enhance, and portion cuisine according to established regulations
  • maintain the quality and safety of food through proper storage
  • uphold sanitary conditions in work areas and utensils
