Job Requirements

  • experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • physical demands includes lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • follow production instructions and standardized recipes to cook a diverse array of dishes
  • ready the workstation with all required tools and ingredients
  • carry out the preparation of ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely use various utensils, including knives
  • handle appliances like ovens, cookers, cutting machinery, mixers, and more
  • use different cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meats, vegetables, and other foods
  • structure, enhance, and portion cuisine based on established regulations
  • maintain quality and safety of food through proper storage methods
  • maintain a sanitary and germ-free environment in work areas, devices, and utensils
  • ensure the delivery of top-notch customer service and maintain a cheerful and approachable demeanor when dealing with guests, customers, clients, and coworkers
  • maintain compliance with safety protocols, emphasizing accurate food safety and sanitation procedures
  • maintain the safety measures for organizational resources
