Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience in a professional kitchen
  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • capability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods
  • effective communication skills
  • willingness to obtain food safety certification

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Prepare food by following production instructions and standardized recipes
  • ready the workstation with all necessary tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, blend, cut, trim, and peel food items accurately
  • safely operate kitchen appliances including ovens, cookers, mixers, and cutting machinery
  • use various cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • structure, enhance, and portion dishes according to established guidelines
  • maintain sanitation and cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and equipment
