Job Description

The community is a welcoming and well-established living environment focused on providing exceptional service and support to its residents and their families. As a reputable community known for fostering a nurturing and positive atmosphere, it emphasizes respect, confidentiality, and customer satisfaction at all levels of operation. The organization is dedicated to ensuring that every interaction within the community reflects care and professionalism, whether dealing with residents, visitors, vendors, or team members. The community environment is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and efficient, making it a sought-after place to work and visit.

The role of Weekend Receptionist (Saturday and Sunday) is pivotal in maintaining the community's professional and welcoming ambiance. This position is responsible for providing a positive first impression and quality customer service as it greets residents, family members, applicants, visitors, vendors, and team members upon their entrance to the community. The receptionist manages a multi-line telephone system, promptly answering calls, relaying messages accurately and courteously, and handling inquiries with a customer-friendly approach. In addition to telephone duties, the receptionist distributes and sends mail and faxes, maintains inventory of office supplies, and assists management with various special projects and mailings.

A crucial element of this role is assisting the Executive Director and Business Office Manager as needed while maintaining strict confidentiality of residents’ personal information. The receptionist is also tasked with ensuring that the community's positive image is upheld through maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. Responsibilities extend into the dining area where the receptionist communicates with culinary services to coordinate meal service, assists in taking resident orders, providing drink refills, and helps with cleaning and resetting the dining room between meal times.

Working in an environment that requires composure during frequent interruptions and occasional emergencies, the receptionist must demonstrate the ability to work independently using sound judgment and abide by the community’s policies and procedures. This role does not involve managerial duties but requires a strong customer service orientation, a servant’s heart, and an attitude aligned with the community's mission statement. A typical work environment is indoors in an open office space with frequent distractions, and the job may occasionally require lifting supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy engaging with people, thrive in fast-paced settings, and value being part of a team that prioritizes kindness, professionalism, and respect. The community accepts applications on a rolling basis until the position is filled, welcoming those who meet the educational and experiential requirements to apply. Employment type is part-time weekend work, focusing on providing critical support during peak days. While the salary is not specified, the role offers an opportunity to contribute to a community-oriented environment with meaningful daily interactions and the chance to develop customer service and administrative skills in a supportive setting.
