Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
One year prior clerical experience in medical records, insurance claims processing, customer service, or related fields
Experience with computers in Windows or DOS
Ability to pass medical terminology exam
Light typing skills
Ability to work independently and with others
Ability to handle peak volumes and interruptions
Successful training and competency testing in Radiology Information System
Proficiency with PC, fax, and office equipment
Good interpersonal communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work within customer service policies
Ability to interact respectfully with diverse patient populations
Sedentary physical demand level

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
One year prior clerical experience in medical records, medical insurance claims processing, customer service, or related public contact
Experience using computers in Windows or DOS environments
Ability to pass medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources
Successful completion of training and competency testing for Radiology Information System modules
Ability to interact effectively with patients and customers with respect and dignity
Strong interpersonal communication skills in person, telephone, and written communication
Attention to detail and ability to follow customer service policies

Job Duties

Greet and assist all customers promptly and courteously
Monitor patient wait times using visual observation and Radiology Information System
Process appropriate paperwork accurately and organize patient information
Answer telephone calls according to established protocol and perform necessary follow-up
Assist with orientation of students and new employees
Perform account balance collections and set up payment plans at patient check-in
Utilize office equipment including computers, fax machines, and scanners efficiently
