Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year prior clerical experience in medical records, insurance claims processing, customer service, or related fields
- Experience with computers in Windows or DOS
- Ability to pass medical terminology exam
- Light typing skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to handle peak volumes and interruptions
- Successful training and competency testing in Radiology Information System
- Proficiency with PC, fax, and office equipment
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work within customer service policies
- Ability to interact respectfully with diverse patient populations
- Sedentary physical demand level
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year prior clerical experience in medical records, medical insurance claims processing, customer service, or related public contact
- Experience using computers in Windows or DOS environments
- Ability to pass medical terminology exam administered by Human Resources
- Successful completion of training and competency testing for Radiology Information System modules
- Ability to interact effectively with patients and customers with respect and dignity
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in person, telephone, and written communication
- Attention to detail and ability to follow customer service policies
Job Duties
- Greet and assist all customers promptly and courteously
- Monitor patient wait times using visual observation and Radiology Information System
- Process appropriate paperwork accurately and organize patient information
- Answer telephone calls according to established protocol and perform necessary follow-up
- Assist with orientation of students and new employees
- Perform account balance collections and set up payment plans at patient check-in
- Utilize office equipment including computers, fax machines, and scanners efficiently
