Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in an office environment
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must pass drug screening and criminal background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of prior experience in an office setting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Professional public presentation skills including telephone etiquette
  • Proficient in basic PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, program management, medical staff, counselors, and peers
  • Ability to maintain routine records and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Self-directed with ability to work with little supervision
  • Flexible and cooperative
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check

Job Duties

  • Perform secretarial duties including answering phones, forwarding calls, managing mail flow, data entry, reconciling daily money collected, and office inventory control
  • Assist Medical Director, Program Physician, and Nurse Practitioner with patient intakes including scheduling, patient check-in, insurance verification, payment collection, and follow-up calls
  • Assist in obtaining patient histories from other Narcotic Treatment Programs (NTPs), build blank patient files for new admissions, archive discharged files, and prepare and maintain reports and records
  • Maintain office cleanliness including children’s play area, lab area disinfection, and coffee/beverage area cleaning
  • Facilitate specimen collection from patients if applicable, deliver specimens to lab, file results, and distribute to counselors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
