The Receptionist role at UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital is a pivotal position that acts as the initial point of contact for visitors and patients entering the facility. As a full-time position, it involves responsibility for screening visitors to ensure hospital security, facilitating effective communication within the hospital by managing phone calls and overhead paging, and supporting the admissions coordinator by providing coverage during breaks and other times as needed. This position requires a warm, friendly, yet professional demeanor to effectively welcome and guide patients and visitors. Handling logistical tasks such as obtaining wheelchairs for patients, distributing and postmarking mail, as well as logging incoming job applications are integral to ensuring smooth hospital operations.

- Previous receptionist experience preferred
Job Duties
- Screen visitors to the appropriate location ensuring security to the building
- Ensure and inform all visitors sign in and wear a visitor’s pass when entering the building supplied by the receptionist
- Provide daily coverage for the admissions coordinator during breaks and various times when required
- Connect and transfer calls to the appropriate party and perform overhead paging
- Notify the admissions coordinator when a customer requests a tour of the facility
- Obtain wheelchairs for patients
- Report any unusual behavior in the lobby or parking area to facilities
- Notify nursing when gifts for patients arrive to ensure timely delivery
- Postmark all outgoing mail and distribute all incoming mail
- Log all incoming job applications
