Job Description

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a reputable non-profit organization dedicated to serving communities across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee by providing a safe and reliable blood supply to over 150 hospitals. Established with the mission to meet and exceed the blood supply needs of hospitals and their patients, LifeSouth operates with over 45 donor centers, 55 bloodmobiles, and organizes approximately 2,000 blood drives each month. This role is for the position of Receptionist located in Gainesville, FL. As a Receptionist at LifeSouth, you will play a crucial part in representing the organization's welcoming and professional environment. This part-time position is essential to customer experience, being the first point of contact for visitors and blood donors. The responsibilities include registering blood donors accurately, ensuring all demographic information is properly collected and entered into the system, and providing exemplary customer service that reflects LifeSouth's values. You will answer and transfer incoming calls, greet donors and visitors, and support the smooth flow of operations within the center. Precise data entry and record management skills are fundamental to this role. Additional duties include reviewing donor records to resolve discrepancies, printing necessary donation records, and assisting with administrative functions relevant to donor registration and management. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Previous experience in customer service, records management, or business telephone systems is preferred but not required. This position pays between $14.50 and $15.95 per hour and requires a criminal background check and drug screen before final hiring. Job Duties

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate extension or relay messages
  • Collect demographic information from donors and enter data into the computer system according to approved guidelines
  • Print Single Donation Records and log donation information on donor registers
  • Review donor record status reports and resolve registration discrepancies according to established guidelines
  • Provide the highest level of customer service towards internal and external customers
  • Greet donors and visitors and direct them to the appropriate area in the facility
