Job Description

Horizon Air is a prominent regional airline that operates as a part of the Alaska Air Group, serving communities throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Known for its commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and fostering a strong safety culture, Horizon Air plays a key role in connecting passengers to major hubs and destinations. The airline emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and inclusivity, valuing employees who can adapt to dynamic environments and uphold its mission to provide safe, reliable, and friendly air travel.

The airport teams at Horizon Air work collaboratively to ensure that guests experience seamless travel from curb to cabin. Whether engaged in customer-facing roles or behind-the-scenes operations, employees are expected to be welcoming, responsive, and proactive in managing a variety of challenges. Horizon Air is currently seeking a Ramp & Customer Service Agent at its Missoula, MT airport location. This role is pivotal in handling both above and below wing tasks, which include direct guest interactions and essential ramp functions.

The Ramp & Customer Service Agent position is a part-time regular role with a starting hourly rate of $17.23. Team members in this role perform diverse responsibilities ranging from assisting guests with travel needs such as ticketing, check-in, and boarding to handling baggage and cargo safely and efficiently. The role also demands working outdoors in all weather conditions to carry out below wing duties like aircraft marshaling, pushback, and deicing, contributing to the safe and timely departure of flights.

Additionally, the position involves vital customer service functions, including managing luggage claims, processing standby and upgrade requests, and ensuring excellent communication with passengers. Agents may also be required to perform security searches and aircraft grooming to uphold regulatory compliance and operational standards. Horizon Air values flexibility in scheduling due to the nature of airline operations that span nights, weekends, and holidays.

Horizon Air supports its employees through a comprehensive total rewards package that includes free stand-by travel privileges on Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air, along with well-being programs featuring medical, dental, and vision benefits. The airline offers generous holiday and paid time off, an annual bonus plan, and a 401k match program. Employees also receive opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.

Given the security-sensitive nature of this role, employees working at airport locations must obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge in good standing. Horizon Air is committed to an equal employment opportunity policy, ensuring nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or other protected categories.

This position represents a fantastic opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy hands-on teamwork, and dedicate themselves to delivering outstanding service. If you have a passion for aviation and customer service, combined with the ability to manage physical work and adapt to variable schedules, this role at Horizon Air could be the perfect fit.
