The Imaging Services position involves performing a variety of responsibilities centered around managing radiology images, reports, and patient records with accuracy and confidentiality. Located in Pembroke Pines, this role is critical in supporting radiologists and other healthcare providers by ensuring the timely distribution and organization of diagnostic imaging data. The employee will manage the maintenance, filing, issuing, and distribution of radiology CDs, DVDs, and digital images while ensuring that patient privacy and Health Information (PHI) protocols are strictly followed. Key duties include daily equipment inspections, patient greeting and scheduling, communicating exam findings, and facilitating the workflow of interpreting physicians. The position requires proficiency in administrative support and customer service, alongside basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology. The role demands critical thinking and decisive judgment with the capability to work independently in a sometimes stressful environment. Physical requirements include transporting patients using assistive devices and managing various equipment as part of routine duties. The work shift is during the day, ideally suited for those with at least one year of clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting like a hospital or physician's office. Mandated certifications include BLS from recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association or Red Cross, highlighting the need for readiness in medical emergencies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of clerical experience required
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise critical thinking
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to complete medical terminology course within 6 months
  • Ability to transport patients using assistive devices
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information following HIPAA guidelines
  • Available to work day shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of clerical experience
  • Experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology or willingness to complete medical terminology course within 6 months of hire
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good organizational and file management abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers and team members

Job Duties

  • Performs daily inspections on radiologist reading workstations
  • Escalates any findings with Radiology IT services for resolution
  • Greets patients, verifies prescriptions with providers, schedules patients as needed
  • Answers department and reading room phones directing callers and providing follow up as needed
  • Manages and distributes patient radiology related imaging and PHI
  • Prepares and distributes patient records including original film, digital images burned to CD or DVD, electronic receiving and release of images
  • Communicates findings of imaging exams to various caregivers, including verifying the transmission of critical findings
  • Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or neuro chair to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment
  • Creates electronic files for release of information to authorized individuals, including legal requests received via subpoena, using properly executed forms
  • Manages electronic imaging exam for timely interpretation, oversees interpretation workflow for interpreting physicians
  • Performs audits for any exams pending final interpretation or results, or any electronic files incorrectly stored
