The role of Quality Technician at MPC Plating is a pivotal position responsible for supporting quality testing, inspections, and process verifications within both the laboratory and production environments. This full-time day shift role operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with some variability in shift scheduling and potential overtime to meet business demands. The Quality Technician is tasked with conducting visual inspections, performing laboratory tests, documenting results accurately, and ensuring that outgoing products adhere strictly to customer and company quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with production teams to promote continuous quality improvement. The technician will also assist in performing outgoing dock audits and layered process audits to verify compliance in labeling, packaging, counting, and part identification. By maintaining rigorous standards and providing constructive feedback, the Quality Technician plays an essential role in upholding MPC Plating’s reputation for quality excellence. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal inspection instructions
  • Basic math skills for measurement and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to report findings clearly

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiarity with plated plastics, automotive components, or similar manufactured products
  • Experience performing inspections or quality audits in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal inspection instructions

Job Duties

  • Conduct visual inspections of outgoing product using approved inspection criteria
  • Perform laboratory testing and record accurate results in the lab database
  • Inspect products for visual attributes and defects
  • Monitor lab equipment, inspection fixtures, retention samples, and testing materials
  • Support sample processing, gauging, and trial-run documentation when required
  • Maintain organized testing records, retention logs, and daily activity documentation
  • Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and document control requirements
  • Perform outgoing dock audits to verify labels, packaging, counts, and part identification against customer requirements
  • Assist with Layered Process Audits (LPAs), including checks on operators, equipment, work instructions, gauges, racks, and process parameters
  • Communicate findings and quality concerns to the quality and production teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
