With a rich history of protecting and beautifying the world, PPG serves customers across multiple markets including industrial, transportation, consumer products, and construction. The company prides itself on leadership in advanced material technologies and is committed to delivering world-class products and services. Located in Cleveland, OH, the Liquid Production Plant is one of PPG's key facilities where high-quality standards are rigorously maintained through advanced processes and dedicated staff.
The role of Quality Control Technician on the 3rd shift offers a unique opportunity to be a vital part of the production process by ensuring product quality through scientific testing and data evaluation. This position operates from Monday to Friday, 9 pm to 5 am, with available overtime, making it ideal for professionals comfortable with night shifts. The base salary ranges from $42,000 to $55,000 per year, based on a 40-hour workweek, with the potential for additional shift differential.
As a Quality Control Technician at PPG, you will be responsible for receiving product samples from production and performing a variety of tests based on customer specifications. You will compile and interpret the data to determine whether products meet the required quality standards, approving or rejecting them accordingly. This hands-on role demands attention to detail and the ability to follow stringent protocols to uphold PPG's reputation for excellence. Besides testing, you will maintain laboratory housekeeping and may also assist in developing specifications and standard operating procedures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Working onsite at the Cleveland Liquid Production Plant, you will report to a Quality Supervisor and become part of a dynamic team that is crucial to operational success. This role not only requires technical skills but also fosters your growth through opportunities for continuing education and career development within PPG. The company culture emphasizes customer focus, agility, accountability, and innovation, supporting employees to act with purpose and speed while delivering results.
In addition to competitive pay, PPG offers excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k, paid time off, family leave, annual bonus incentives, shift differentials, and opportunities for growth. PPG is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunity for all applicants and supporting a fulfilling workplace that values continuous learning and diverse perspectives. If you are motivated to join a globally recognized company that protects and beautifies the world, this Quality Control Technician role presents an excellent career pathway.
