Job Description

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is a leading provider and innovator in the building solutions industry, specializing in outdoor living products and utility infrastructure solutions across North America. The company manufactures a broad range of products including precast concrete, polymer concrete, and plastic infrastructure products that serve critical markets like water, energy, and communications. With a diverse portfolio of respected brands such as Oldcastle APG, Oldcastle Infrastructure, Belgard, Echelon Masonry, and Sakrete, Oldcastle is recognized for delivering superior quality and reliability to engineers, contractors, distributors, retailers, specifiers, and homeowners. The company’s commitment to innovation and quality has established it as a strategic partner in the building solutions sector, continually adapting to market needs while maintaining high standards of production and customer service.

Oldcastle Infrastructure is part of this extensive network, reinforcing its reputation for being Built For Life through high-quality manufacturing of precast concrete structures and other infrastructure-related products. Located in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this segment of Oldcastle is hiring a Quality Control Technician to join their team on a non-exempt basis. The role is pivotal in ensuring that all precast concrete products meet rigorous standards of quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will observe the fabrication processes, conduct daily concrete testing, maintain detailed records, and communicate findings to production and management teams to promote product excellence.

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for monitoring concrete and reinforcing cage fabrication to ensure adherence to Oldcastle’s standards and production drawings. This involves conducting pre-pour and post-pour inspections coupled with daily testing of concrete specimens in line with state regulations and company standards. They will also play a critical role in identifying quality concerns, writing corrective action reports for defective products, and assisting the sales team in addressing customer complaints. Beyond routine tasks, this technician ensures the implementation of Oldcastle’s quality control programs within the Kenosha manufacturing environment, contributing to process improvements and driving continuous product improvement.

This role demands a candidate with prior quality control experience in similar industries, preferably with certification in ACI/PCI or the ability to pass ACI Concrete Field Testing within three months and maintain that certification. At least three years of concrete industry experience and basic computer skills are essential, as is effective communication capability. The position requires physical effort, including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and extensive walking in both indoor and outdoor industrial settings. Oldcastle offers competitive base pay alongside comprehensive medical, dental, and disability benefits, a group retirement savings program, and inclusive growth opportunities, making this a rewarding career opportunity within a supportive company culture that values diversity and equal employment opportunity.
