The Quality Supervisor role at Califia Farms is a crucial leadership position responsible for executing both plant and corporate Food Safety and Quality programs. This full-time night shift role, operating from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM, focuses on ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and internal company standards within ESL and aseptic beverage manufacturing operations. The Quality Supervisor provides technical quality leadership to production teams, overseeing laboratory and quality systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product safety, quality, and operational performance.

In this role, the Quality Supervisor will manage and enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and comprehensive food safety programs. Leading root cause investigations and corrective actions, they play a key role in maintaining a culture of food safety and quality throughout the facility. The role involves supporting environmental monitoring programs, conducting audits, maintaining audit-ready documentation, supervising laboratory personnel, and collaborating cross-functionally with various departments such as Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, Engineering, and Supply Chain. The Quality Supervisor will monitor quality key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate findings to plant leadership, and support employee training and development to uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.

With an expected salary range of $80,000 to $95,000 per year based on full-time employment, this position offers a competitive compensation package. Job Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of quality assurance experience within food and/or beverage manufacturing or a similar regulated environment
  • Prior experience directly supervising or leading employees
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, GLP, GDP, environmental monitoring, and food safety regulatory requirements such as FDA, SQF, or GFSI standards
  • Experience with quality systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and audit processes including internal, regulatory, or third-party audits
  • BPCS certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally with production, sanitation, maintenance, and leadership teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate expectations, feedback, and technical information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with quality data systems or manufacturing systems is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Physical requirements including ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb stairs or ladders, and lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate, ratio, and percentage

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Execute plant quality and food safety initiatives to ensure compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications within Extended Shelf Life and aseptic manufacturing environments
  • Oversee and enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, GLP, GDP, Food Safety Plans, sanitation standards, and SOPs throughout all production and support areas
  • Provide technical guidance and real-time quality support to production floor personnel, assisting with troubleshooting, process deviations, product evaluations, and corrective actions
  • Support Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMP), including environmental sampling activities, trend analysis, corrective actions, and verification of sanitation effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation and ensure integrity of quality records, production logs, laboratory results, and compliance reports through effective data management practices
  • Conduct internal audits, verify HACCP documentation, and support regulatory, customer, and third-party audits to ensure ongoing plant compliance
  • Supervise laboratory personnel through direct leadership responsibilities while coordinating quality oversight activities across all production shifts
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to improve plant efficiency, product quality, food safety, and operational performance
  • Investigate quality incidents, consumer complaints, environmental findings, and process deviations
  • lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Monitor quality KPIs and plant performance metrics, communicating trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to plant leadership
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and monitoring devices are properly calibrated, maintained, and functioning according to established standards
  • Support training and development of plant personnel on food safety, quality systems, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Promote a strong food safety and quality culture by reinforcing accountability, continuous improvement, and adherence to established standards and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by supporting safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and proper use of PPE and company equipment
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, and management to foster collaboration and operational success
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support plant quality, food safety, and business objectives
