Blue Pacific Flavors Inc. operates within a dynamic market, leveraging research and development to create not only appealing flavors but also safe, compliant, and consistent products for diverse applications. \n\nThe role available at Blue Pacific Flavors Inc. involves joining the Quality Control (QC) team, focused primarily on ensuring the integrity and excellence of flavors and ingredients through comprehensive testing and regulatory compliance. This position requires performing a variety of quality control tests, including sensory evaluations, on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods to validate that they meet the stringent company and industry specifications. The QC professional will be responsible for accurately sampling, testing, documenting results in the ERP system, and coordinating with third-party laboratories for external testing and sample shipments. \n\nThe role also entails responsibilities such as re-testing expiring materials, supporting shelf-life extensions, troubleshooting and maintaining laboratory instruments, and managing documentation related to quality assurance and control. The incumbent will release or hold materials in the ERP system and generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) along with other QC documentation. They will also contribute to ERP setup for new materials or products, including test planning and data management. Collaboration with other departments such as Research & Development (R&D), Manufacturing, and suppliers is crucial to ensure that product specifications, testing methods, and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved. \n\nAdditional responsibilities include maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), handling customer specifications, completing QA questionnaires, supporting audit processes, HACCP and GMP compliance programs, conducting complaint investigations (Corrective and Preventive Actions - CAPA), training staff, and overseeing laboratory safety. Job Requirements

  • Experience in food, beverage, flavor, or pharmaceutical industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, chemistry, or related field
  • Hands-on sensory testing experience
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory standards
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food, beverage, flavor, or pharmaceutical industry required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Background in food science, food technology, chemistry, or related field with strong organic chemistry knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with sensory testing
  • Strong understanding of food science, ingredients, additives, and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory standards with ability to interpret compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines

Job Duties

  • Perform QC testing (including sensory) on raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods per specifications
  • Accurately sample, test, and document results in the ERP system
  • Coordinate third-party lab testing and sample shipments
  • Re-test expiring materials, support shelf-life extensions, and manage discard reporting
  • Troubleshoot and maintain lab instruments, coordinating service as needed
  • Release or hold materials in ERP and generate COAs and related QC documentation
  • Support ERP setup of new materials/products, including test plans and data management
