The Public Safety Mont-Front Desk role at Southcoast Health offers an exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact for patients and guests visiting the St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA. Working on a per diem basis with flexible shifts including weekend and holiday rotations, this position plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. The Public Safety Concierge ensures that all visitors entering the premises are authorized or have legitimate business, providing exceptional customer service, directions, and assistance when needed. The role requires sound judgment and the ability to think independently, especially in situations where direct supervision is not available. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior security, customer service, or administrative experience preferred
- Must complete Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) de-escalation training within 120 days of hire
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 or have a valid exemption
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
Job Qualifications

- Prior security, customer service, or administrative experience is a plus

Job Duties
- Operate as first point of contact and source of information for patients and guests
- Ensure all visitors are authorized or have legitimate business on the property
- Employ exceptional customer service skills to welcome visitors
- Provide directions and request assistance for visitors needing special help
- Think independently and use problem-solving skills without direct supervision
- Manage visitor flow and maintain a secure environment
- Assist in de-escalation situations if necessary
