The role of the Public Area Attendant at First Hospitality is vital in upholding the cleanliness and positive image of the hotel property. This position involves meticulous cleaning and maintenance of all public spaces such as lobby restrooms, telephone areas, front desks, and offices to ensure they remain neat, welcoming, and guest-ready at all times. The Public Area Attendant’s responsibilities include cleaning a variety of spaces including rooms, hallways, restaurants, banquet halls, restrooms, and the front of the hotel. They manage tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets, dusting, polishing metalwork and furniture, emptying trash and ashtrays, and maintaining housekeeping closets and equipment. The role demands physical strength and endurance since it requires standing, walking frequently, bending, reaching, and maneuvering objects up to 30 pounds. The attendant is also tasked with spring cleaning duties and must coordinate cleaning schedules to ensure all areas receive appropriate attention. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in hospitality or housekeeping preferred
- must be able to stand and walk frequently throughout the workday
- must be able to lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally
- ability to reach, bend, stoop, and pivot frequently throughout the workday

Job Duties
- Clean rooms, hallways and restrooms
- clean and maintain restaurants and banquet halls
- sweep and vacuum carpets
- remove trash and empty ashtrays and urns
- dust and polish metal work, furniture, fixtures, and elevators
- keep the front of the hotel free from trash
- clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and shampoo machine
- wash walls and ceilings, move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses
- sweep, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors
- collect solid linen supplies in floor linen closets
- maintain housekeeping closets
- responsible for upkeep of all the equipment used (i.e., vacuum cleaner, trolleys, scrubbing machine)
- responsible for maintaining a time schedule for cleaning of their areas
- responsible for spring cleaning of their area as per the schedule given to them
- authorized to enter into offices for maintenance or other activities like pest control, shampooing of carpet etc.
