As a Steward at Hilton, you will play a vital role in supporting the seamless operation of the hotel's food and beverage services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of all cooking utensils, chinaware, silverware, and service ware, helping maintain Hilton’s high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality, as the steward will be handling tasks such as operating dishwashers, scrubbing pots and pans, polishing silver, and maintaining stock of supplies and equipment. Beyond these duties, the steward is also responsible for performing general cleaning tasks such as mopping and waste removal to uphold a safe and sanitary environment.
In addition to regular duties, stewards support event functions by preparing and placing clean service ware and can be called upon to train other team members to ensure consistent service standards. This position is fundamental in helping the hotel efficiently manage its kitchen and service operations, contributing to the overall guest experience and operational profitability. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in hotel or restaurant stewarding is an asset
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift moderate weights
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated hospitality skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good physical stamina
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Ability to train others
Job Duties
- Wash dishes and operate the dishwasher to clean all chinaware, silverware and cooking utensils
- Scrub pots and pans
- Burnish, de-tarnish and polish silver
- Stock and maintain supplies and equipment
- Perform cleaning duties including, but not limited to, mopping and removing trash
- Transport and store clean service ware
- Train other stewards, as needed
- Prepare and place clean service ware for events and functions
