The Front End Associate is responsible for scanning orders, handling various payment methods including cash, checks, coupons, gift cards, and food assistance vouchers like WIC and food stamps, all while maintaining accurate cash control. Operational duties also entail proper bagging techniques, verifying carts for forgotten items, managing refunds and error corrections, and assisting customers with loading groceries into their vehicles when needed.
Apart from customer-focused tasks, the Front End Associate ensures that the checkout area remains clean, organized, and fully functional by monitoring equipment like cash registers and MVP savings center kiosks. The role demands an alert and safety-conscious mindset to observe and remedy any hazards that may pose a risk to associates or customers. Furthermore, the role requires compliance with company dress code and uniform standards, fostering a professional appearance that contributes to the overall store image.

Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
- Greet each customer and uses his or her name whenever possible
- Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and unload items for ease of bagging such as grouping cold items together
- Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order
- Follow correct bagging procedures for the correct use of bags by type
- Scan customers' order and handle the payment transaction, per standard practice
- Avoid personal conversations with other associates when customers are present
