Professional appearance and behavior are essential, as the cook represents the Nooksack Northwood Casino both within the kitchen and to guests. Confidentiality regarding company and player information must be maintained at all times.

Work conditions for this role can be challenging, with exposure to noisy, hot, and sometimes cramped kitchen spaces as well as potentially smoky, crowded casino environments. The position requires physical stamina, involving standing or walking for extended periods, lifting loads up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions. The ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary to meet the casino’s business needs.

To qualify for this role, candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess valid and current licenses including the Non-Gaming Nooksack Tribal Gaming Agency License and a Washington State Food Workers Card or Indian Health Services Food Training Card. Skillful knife handling and proper cooking techniques are essential.
