Seaton Senior Living is currently seeking an Activities and Events Coordinator to join their team. This role is vital in enhancing the lives of residents by planning, scheduling, and conducting a variety of programs that promote physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual engagement. The coordinator will assist in the development and oversight of resident activities, helping to create a dynamic and supportive environment that meets the diverse needs of the community. The position also involves coordinating community events from beginning to end, including managing set-up, execution, and breakdown, ensuring each event runs smoothly and successfully.

The Activities and Events Coordinator position requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings and every other weekend, to accommodate the scheduling of planned activities and events. This role is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of older adults, possesses strong organizational and communication skills, and exhibits creative ability in planning engaging programs. Candidates are expected to be proficient with basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, and to demonstrate the ability to motivate and encourage senior residents.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in social work, recreation, sociology, psychology or related field preferred
  • One to three years experience in assisted living or long term care working with memory care patients preferred
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to encourage and motivate older adults
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated creative ability
  • Strong skills in organization, delegation and consensus building
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and every other weekend for planned activity events

Job Qualifications

  • Attend all community planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down
  • Assist in preparing and organizing a calendar of events
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and every other weekend for planned activity events
