Job Description

Lorenz Clinic stands as a beacon of excellence in mental health care, deeply committed to practicing psychotherapy as a nuanced, interpersonal process rather than a mere transactional service. As Minnesota's first specialty clinic in family psychology, Lorenz Clinic distinguishes itself through its clinician-led, mission-driven approach that integrates systems thinking, reflective practice, and relational depth at the core of its operations. The Clinic prides itself on maintaining rigorous intellectual standards and clinical maturity, opting out of the common industry focus on productivity quotas and algorithmic care. This philosophy ensures that each clinician is supported in delivering psychotherapy that is thoughtful, comprehensive, and rooted in authentic human connection.

Lorenz Clinic operates not just as a mental health care provider but also as a post-graduate training institute that fosters professional growth and clinical expertise. With its rich history and commitment to excellence, the Clinic selectively hires full-time licensed therapists who are devoted to deep therapeutic work within a system that values integrity, humility, and a thorough understanding of systemic and developmental factors influencing mental health.

The Clinic’s unique culture supports therapists in working at an advanced level of clinical depth while providing access to substantial clinical consultation, case discussions, and professional development opportunities. Clinicians at Lorenz partake in a collaborative, feedback-rich community that promotes ongoing learning and reflective practice, essential for maintaining clinical excellence and personal well-being.

As a licensed psychotherapist at Lorenz Clinic, you would join a dedicated team that provides diagnostic assessment, psychotherapy, and individualized treatment planning for a diverse patient population spanning all ages. The Clinic’s commitment to accessibility is demonstrated by serving a significant portion of clients through Medicaid and offering a sliding fee scale that reaches down to zero cost based on client need. This strongly aligns with Lorenz’s foundational belief in psychotherapy’s social mission and its transformative potential to heal relationships and communities.

The role invites clinicians who are passionate about practicing relationally-oriented, developmentally nuanced therapy within a systemic framework. You would engage in a variety of psychotherapy modalities, guided by reflective supervision, regular consultation, and team collaboration, all supported by a Wellness Roadmap designed to promote clinician autonomy, manageable caseloads, and personal well-being. Lorenz Clinic's comprehensive benefits package and professional culture make it a unique environment that prioritizes both clinical impact and therapist sustainability.

This position offers full-time employment with a salary range of $78,000 to $125,000, commensurate with experience, clinical expertise, and program fit. Lorenz Clinic also offers a clear career progression path and complementary roles for pre-licensed therapists through their Post-Master’s Fellowship program, reflecting the Clinic’s dedication to developing talent within the mental health field.

If you seek a professional home characterized by thoughtful practice, strong communal support, and a commitment to social justice and clinical depth, Lorenz Clinic provides an exceptional environment where your clinical skills and values can thrive.
