The role of Psychiatrist at Wellpath is a critical position tasked with providing comprehensive psychiatric care to incarcerated patients. This includes conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing psychotropic medications, and offering follow-up care while exercising independent medical judgment. The Psychiatrist will be instrumental in supporting mental health and healthcare staff with clinical consultation to address complex psychiatric needs. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with facility leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent approach to psychiatric and mental health services across the facility. The position also demands timely and accurate clinical documentation, participation in required meetings, and involvement in crisis intervention when needed. Wellpath values a holistic approach to mental health care coordination, ensuring treatment plans are well-managed and continuity of care is maintained through coordination with mental health services. This role requires a licensed, board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist familiar with correctional healthcare dynamics, with optional adolescent population experience for youth facility assignments.
