The individual will lead safety training and education initiatives, helping project teams understand and implement safe work practices, environmental management, and hazardous materials handling.
In this role, the EH&S specialist will lead, direct, and enforce safety programs specific to the project, assessing risks and exposures while driving continuous safety improvements. They facilitate clear communication with project leadership about safety performance and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The professional develops and delivers project-specific training, promotes safe working conditions, and maintains collaborative relationships with subcontractor safety representatives. They also establish accountability models for subcontractors and trades to guarantee proper safety pre-planning and compliance. Responsibilities include conducting safety audits, reviewing subcontractor safety programs, overseeing pre-task plans, and participating in incident rate reduction. The role demands strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to influence behavior and mitigate risks effectively within a dynamic construction environment.
Turner Construction offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial benefits such as a 401(k) plan, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Account, wellness programs, legal and identity theft protection plans, life insurance, and disability coverage.
