Job Description
Snowbird is a renowned resort nestled in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Known for its awe-inspiring natural beauty and vast mountainous terrain, Snowbird offers a unique blend of outdoor recreational activities throughout distinct summer and winter seasons. The resort is not only a destination for outdoor enthusiasts but also a vibrant workplace that attracts employees passionate about mountains and the outdoors. Snowbird operates with a dynamic workforce that includes full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions, embracing diversity and promoting a friendly, inclusive environment. They value professionalism, growth, and a collaborative spirit among their employees while maintaining high standards for guest experiences and employee safety.
The Programing and Partnerships Operations Coordinator position at Snowbird is a full-time, year-round role with benefits that plays a vital part within the resort’s special events, partnership activations, and signature experiences. Reporting directly to the Programming & Partnerships Manager, this role requires a highly enthusiastic individual with a passion for events and outdoor activities. The coordinator is responsible for the meticulous planning, organizing, and execution of events, ensuring that all operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This includes managing vendor relations, internal communications across various resort departments, and overseeing logistics such as equipment and inventory management.
The position demands strong communication and interpersonal skills, often under tight deadlines and fluctuating schedules. This includes the flexibility to work long and sometimes irregular hours, including nights and weekends, across all seasons. A significant part of the role involves coordination during large-scale events such as the 10-week Oktoberfest festival, where the coordinator contributes to site setup, vendor and greeter management, signage, and overall event teardown. Additionally, the coordinator assists with booking entertainment, maintaining storage areas, managing the resort’s vehicle fleet, and collaborating with the marketing team to enhance partnership visibility and engagement.
The role also emphasizes guest interaction and teamwork, requiring continuous communication with guests and colleagues to foster a welcoming and professional atmosphere. Candidates should be motivated by problem-solving in dynamic environments and demonstrate a strong work ethic, growth mindset, and a positive attitude. They should be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment, including working outdoors in various weather conditions, and be able to lift substantial weight and perform repetitive motions.
Educationally, the position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Relevant experience in events, marketing, or partnerships—particularly event experience—is essential. A valid driver’s license with a clean record is mandatory, as well as being at least 21 years old. The ideal candidate will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and an advanced skill level in skiing or snowboarding.
Overall, the Programing and Partnerships Operations Coordinator is crucial to the delivery of memorable, safe, and effective events and experiences that enrich the Snowbird guest experience. Snowbird prides itself on fostering a diverse and inclusive work culture where employees are supported and encouraged to bring their passion for the outdoors and events to life in a professional and fun setting. If you are enthusiastic about the mountains and events, seeking a challenging yet rewarding career with a well-established mountain resort, Snowbird invites you to apply and become part of their dedicated team.
