Job Description

Amazon is a global leader in e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. The company has continually reinvented the way consumers shop and businesses operate by leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative logistics solutions. Amazon operates a vast and complex operational network worldwide, which makes safety a top priority. The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) organization at Amazon is dedicated to maintaining the safety and well-being of associates across all its operations by managing and advancing safety standards, protocols, and systems that protect employees in a variety of environments and situations.

The WHS team’s commitment is backed by sophisticated data-driven systems, robust change management strategies, and a customer-focused approach. The Data Tech Systems (DTS) team is an integral part of WHS focused on the end-to-end lifecycle management of safety management platforms. This includes interpreting customer needs, validating problems, defining requirements, and managing product development through launch and iterative improvement phases. Becoming part of this team means working closely with technology, data, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that make a measurable difference in safety outcomes.

The Program Manager role within DTS is a key position that supports Amazon’s mission to become the global benchmark for safety excellence. This role involves managing the entire product lifecycle for Amazon’s safety management systems by contributing to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and change management. You will be responsible for translating business needs and customer pain points into actionable, data-driven solutions that improve safety operations. This requires expert communication skills, collaboration across internal teams, and a strong ability to influence decision-making at various organizational levels.

In this position, you will play a vital role in maintaining Amazon’s high safety standards by partnering with cross-functional teams, including technical product managers, engineers, and program managers, ensuring that safety products are delivered on time with the right features and quality. You will also be responsible for performance measurement and continuous improvement through the establishment of metrics and quality assurance processes that support informed decision-making and operational effectiveness.

The day-to-day responsibilities involve working at the intersection of customers, data, and technology to triage intake requests, author clear business requirements, analyze data to support recommendations, and manage stakeholder expectations. You will work with Amazon’s tech teams through development cycles and help facilitate user acceptance testing while ensuring effective communication and training support post-launch.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package with a salary range that varies by location, including sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Comprehensive benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, employee assistance programs, mental health support, flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with experience in program or project management, data analytics, and process improvement within operational or regulatory environments. Amazon is an inclusive employer that values diversity and provides accommodation for candidates with disabilities throughout the hiring process.
