Job Description
Flamingo is an innovative, all-in-one resident engagement mobile application that caters to luxury residential apartment buildings by offering premium services designed to enhance resident lifestyle and community interaction. The services provided by Flamingo encompass a broad range of resident events, fitness classes, and concierge services specifically tailored for upscale residential communities. Among the notable offerings are various resident events such as Cooking Classes, Catered Parties, Culinary Events, and more, all aimed at creating engaging, memorable experiences for residents.
As a company rooted in enhancing community living through unique and high-quality experiences, Flamingo is looking to expand its team by hiring experienced chefs who are passionate about culinary arts and eager to share that passion with a diverse customer base. The opportunity at Flamingo is unique in that it allows chefs to engage directly with residents through hands-on cooking classes and catering experiences, contributing to a vibrant and interactive community environment.
This freelance chef position is ideally suited for culinary professionals who enjoy teaching and leading events centered around food preparation and enjoyment. Chefs will have the opportunity to facilitate a wide array of cooking classes, including but not limited to sushi preparation, pasta making, dessert creation, Italian cuisine, and more. These classes serve not only as educational and recreational experiences for participants but also as a platform for chefs to showcase their skills and culinary creativity in a luxury setting.
Working hours for this role primarily include evenings from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with additional availability required on weekends for special events. This flexible schedule accommodates the nighttime and weekend preferences typical of resident activity patterns in apartment communities.
The role requires more than just cooking skills. Chefs are expected to be the face of Flamingo at these events, embodying professionalism, enthusiasm, and an engaging demeanor. Prior to the start of each event, chefs must arrive early to set up and organize the space to ensure a smooth and timely start and finish to every class or event. Additionally, they are responsible for capturing event photos and communicating feedback to the Flamingo team post-event, maintaining clear and timely communication via email and phone.
Chefs must also be diligent in recording attendance data after each event, an essential part of operations and event tracking at Flamingo. Compensation for this freelance role ranges from $300 to $500+ per event, varying based on the size and duration of the event. While positions may not be immediately available, Flamingo actively reaches out to qualified applicants as demand increases, making this an exciting opportunity for chefs looking to grow their freelance culinary careers in a vibrant community setting.
