The Howmet Engines business division specializes in producing world-class aerospace engine components, including investment castings, fasteners, rings, forgings, and vacuum melted superalloys. Currently, Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Charge Prep Team Member to join its Alloy Plant located in Dover, New Jersey. This role is a weekend nights shift position, requiring work from Friday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with initial training conducted during the daytime shift from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The position offers a competitive starting hourly wage of $25.00, which increases to $27.71 after 12 months, along with an hourly shift premium for off-shift assignments.

The Charge Prep Team Member will be responsible for pulling, verifying, and staging raw materials according to the furnace schedule. This involves sorting and verifying materials using alloy identification equipment, maintaining lot integrity, completing forms related to materials, and accounting accurately for unusable or scrap metals. Additionally, the role demands proficiency in cutting and grinding raw materials per detailed specifications, cleaning materials, inspecting cleanliness standards, performing preventative maintenance on equipment, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

This position also emphasizes adherence to strict environmental health and safety policies where employees are expected to comply with departmental, corporate, and regulatory EH&S regulations, use personal protective equipment, report job-related illnesses or injuries promptly, and participate in all required EH&S training sessions.

The role involves operating various specialized equipment such as overhead jib cranes, forklifts, guillotine shears, power saws, grinding devices, and alloy testing machines. Physical demands include handling heavy materials safely and accurately weighing all materials. The ability to read, write, and understand English and perform basic mathematical calculations is essential for success in this role.
