The Cook's responsibilities are diverse and essential to ensuring quality food service. The primary tasks include cooking and preparing a variety of foods according to standardized recipes, setting up workstations with necessary ingredients and tools, and preparing ingredients through measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling. The role also involves safely using a variety of utensils like knives and operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Cooking methods include baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and others applied to meat, vegetables, and more. Additionally, the Cook will arrange, garnish, and portion foods according to guidelines, properly store food following safety protocols, and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
Maintaining excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward guests, clients, coworkers, and customers is integral to this position. The Cook is also responsible for adhering to Aramark’s safety policies, ensuring accurate food safety and sanitation practices, and safeguarding company assets. Physical demands of the role include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. The role also requires wearing uniforms and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as appropriate.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in a food preparation or cooking role
- ability to comply with food safety regulations
- physical ability to meet role demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking and standing for extended periods
- availability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment
- ability to acquire food safety certification
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- must be able to acquire food safety certification
- demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
