Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in integrated facilities management and food services, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people. With operations worldwide, Sodexo partners with various institutions, including universities, hospitals, corporate campuses, and government agencies, to offer exceptional culinary services alongside comprehensive facilities management solutions. Their commitment extends beyond providing meals; they aim to create a better everyday life for their clients and communities through sustainable and innovative practices, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace culture where employees feel valued and empowered.

This particular position is with Sodexo at Batten University, where they provide on-site dining and food services to support the daily nutritional needs of students, faculty, and staff. The Production Cook role at Batten University is available for both full-time and part-time employment, offering an hourly wage ranging from $15.68 to $21.16. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about food quality, presentation, and safety. Open availability is preferred due to varying shifts, which may include different days and hours, with more details provided during the interview process.

As a Production Cook at Sodexo, your core responsibility will be to prepare, cook, portion, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meal periods and special events. You will work closely within a team in a dynamic kitchen setting to meet Sodexo's culinary standards, ensuring every dish served is of high quality, consistent, and visually appealing. The role demands precision in following recipes, managing food inventory responsibly, and maintaining a clean and organized workplace that complies with federal, state, and company food safety regulations.

Working at Sodexo is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to contribute to a greater purpose, knowing that your everyday actions impact others positively. Sodexo invests in its employees through ongoing training and development programs aimed at career advancement. The company offers a supportive and flexible work environment that values teamwork, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring employees can thrive personally and professionally while maintaining a work-life balance.

The Production Cook position involves physical demands such as standing for long hours, repetitive motions, and lifting weights ranging from moderate to occasionally heavy loads. Additionally, the role requires an understanding of kitchen equipment operation and food handling procedures, ensuring that all food is prepared in adherence to health and safety guidelines. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of culinary knowledge, teamwork skills, and a strong work ethic to successfully deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Furthermore, Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the wellbeing of its employees and their families, including benefits like paid time off, medical and dental insurance, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans such as 401k. Some locations may also provide additional perks like meal allowances, uniforms, safety shoes, and transportation support. Sodexo encourages applicants from all backgrounds and emphasizes equal employment opportunities, creating a workplace free from discrimination and fostering an environment where everyone is respected and can be themselves.
