Job Description

ACV Auctions is a rapidly growing technology company revolutionizing how car dealers buy and sell vehicles online. Established in 2014 and headquartered in Buffalo, USA, ACV operates a vibrant digital marketplace where wholesale vehicle transactions and data services are seamlessly connected through innovative technology. The company employs between 1001-5000 team members and is classified as a late-stage enterprise, known for leveraging advanced technology to transform the traditional automotive sales process. ACV’s platform simplifies and modernizes vehicle auctions and related financial processes by providing transparent, efficient, and reliable tools that cater to dealers’ needs in a fast-paced industry environment.

The company is currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Product Manager to lead their Order Management Systems (OMS) platform. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of order flows, managing integrations with internal operations and financial systems, and supporting multiple stakeholders across the organization. The Product Manager will own the OMS platform end to end, responsible for the financial aggregation layer that feeds into NetSuite for settlement and accounting, internal order management tools used by operations teams, and the event producers that notify downstream teams when transactions and orders are completed. This role acts as the connective tissue between engineering, finance, internal operations, and downstream product teams that rely on real-time order and transaction data.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product management, particularly in areas involving order management, financial settlements, ERP integration, and event-driven architectures. Leading the strategy, development, and operation of complex transactional systems, the Product Manager will ensure platform SLAs are met, including order throughput, event delivery latency, settlement accuracy, and reconciliation completeness. They will be responsible for guiding investments into internal operations tooling with a hypothesis-driven approach, collecting user feedback, and using operational metrics to improve workflows and reduce manual work for ops teams.

This role requires a deep understanding of transactional system hygiene, including concepts like idempotency, reconciliation, event delivery semantics, data lineage, and maintaining auditable and trusted financial and operational data flows. The Product Manager will translate complex transactional flows into actionable insights that influence product priorities and unblock internal customers effectively. They must balance trade-offs between system complexity, time-to-market, and operational or financial risks, championing platform strategy and roadmap initiatives at an executive level to secure alignment and buy-in for business outcomes.

Candidates should bring strong quantitative skills, including hands-on proficiency with SQL, structured rollout and validation design, and understanding platform performance metrics such as throughput, latency, error rates, and reconciliation accuracy. Key collaborative skills include working cross-functionally with engineering and non-engineering teams like finance and operations, as well as expertise in Agile methodologies and release planning. Strong communication skills are essential for simplifying complex financial and transactional systems for non-technical stakeholders, alongside mentoring capabilities to support team growth.

This full-time role provides a unique opportunity to influence one of the most critical systems underpinning ACV’s functionality and success. If you are passionate about developing cutting-edge order management and financial transaction platforms in a thriving tech-driven environment, ACV Auctions offers an exciting and impactful career path.
