The position available is for a Courier Driver on a PRN (pro re nata or as-needed) basis. This means there is no set work schedule, and the role does not qualify for benefit eligibility. The Courier Driver plays a crucial role in maintaining smooth and timely operations within the healthcare system by ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of documents, packages, lab samples, medications, and supplies between various clinic locations. This position demands excellent time management skills, strong customer service orientation, and a consistent commitment to safety standards while driving.
In this role, the courier driver will be responsible for executing delivery routes accurately to guarantee on-time deliveries, handling sensitive health information with utmost care, and maintaining communication with supervisors regarding special needs or assignments each day. Attention to vehicle maintenance and adherence to traffic laws are essential requirements to provide safe and reliable service. This role supports not only logistical operations but also contributes to the quality and efficiency of patient care by ensuring that necessary clinical materials and medications reach their destinations without delay.
The successful candidate will be confident navigating community transportation routes, able to operate company vehicles safely, and skilled at problem-solving. They will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor and effective communication with staff and the public. This role also includes physical demands such as frequent standing, driving, lifting various weights, and occasional climbing or bending, reflecting the active nature of the job.

- valid state driver’s license with satisfactory driving record upon hire
- knowledge of transportation routes within the community
- ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- skilled in manual and finger dexterity

- potential availability or use of privately owned vehicle

Job Duties
- Deliver clinic material and pick up supplies and mail
- distribute items to appropriate destinations
- handle lab samples and medications safely while protecting health information
- verify delivery information including addresses and recipient details
- meet daily with supervisor to discuss needs, problems, and assignments
- ensure proper maintenance of courier vehicle
- evaluate traffic patterns, routes, and weather conditions daily
- inspect and safely operate company vehicle obeying traffic laws
- keep current on company mandated tasks and communications
