The PRN Culinary & Hospitality Associate position at Bronson Commons (BCOM) is an essential role within the Food Service department. This part-time position involves working every other weekend from noon to 8:30 pm, totaling approximately 10 scheduled weekly hours. The role focuses on delivering high-quality food and hospitality service to patients, customers, and various supply facilities within the Bronson Healthcare system. Under general supervision, Culinary & Hospitality Associates carry out their duties by following established procedures and demonstrating attentiveness to detail, safety, and customer satisfaction.
As a Level 1 Culinary & Hospitality Associate, the successful candidate will be expected to work efficiently both independently and as part of the team. The responsibilities include the assembly and service of food items, meal deliveries, operating cash registers and meal ordering systems, and maintaining cleanliness within kitchen and dining areas. The role demands a willingness to be adaptable by performing duties outside the specific job description when required. This may include light and heavy cleaning tasks, product labeling, stocking, and assisting with food preparation activities such as washing, peeling, dicing, and mixing ingredients.
This position plays a critical role in sustaining the overall excellence of Bronson's Food & Nutrition Department. Associates contribute to a supportive and positive atmosphere by adhering to safety standards and delivering outstanding customer service. Additionally, the role requires basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles to ensure compliance with health regulations. Strong communication skills, basic math ability, and the capacity to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English are fundamental requirements. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- ability to communicate clearly and understand basic verbal and written directions
- ability to follow basic food assembly and packaging instructions
- ability to read and understand the English language

- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Duties
- Assembly and service of foods and supplies to customers, patients, and supply facilities
- delivery of meals and supplies to patients
- light and heavy cleaning as assigned, such as dishwashing, trash, facility cleaning
- operation of cash register and patient meal ordering system(s)
- stocking and filling, product labeling and dating, product rotation
- demonstrates commitment to providing outstanding customer service to customers and peers in a manner that is reflective of our mission, values and customer service standards
- prepares, apportions, distributes, and stores various hot and cold food items according to recipes, production sheets, portion control standards, established procedures, and/or specific instructions
- measures, washes, cleans, mixes, and combines ingredients for preparation of food production items
- operates/utilizes automatic appliances and manual kitchen utensils
- other duties and responsibilities as assigned
