The Glen is currently seeking a highly motivated Private Dining Room Attendant to join its Culinary Team on an on-call PRN basis for their new Independent Living community. This role is vital in ensuring that residents enjoy a positive and high-quality dining experience. The position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about serving others and can maintain excellent dining standards while supporting dietary functions as per established policies and procedures. The selected candidate will work primarily from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., covering three to four nights per week, including Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with some flexibility available. As a Private Dining Room Attendant, the individual will be responsible for greeting guests, providing menu information, taking orders using a Point of Sale (POS) system, and collaborating closely with kitchen staff to ensure resident satisfaction.
In addition to technical skills, the role demands strong communication abilities and a commitment to upholding the organization's standards of grooming and appearance. The attendant will perform various duties such as serving food and beverages, responding promptly to guest requests, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in other restaurant areas as needed. Basic cooking knowledge, including salad preparation and dessert plating, is a plus. - finger and hand dexterity to operate small equipment
- significant stooping, bending, standing, and walking required
- ability to work in warm, humid environment with exposure to sudden temperature changes
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous dining room or server experience preferred
- completion of ServeSafe course upon hire
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work with diverse groups
- computer skills including POS systems
- strong organizational and time management skills
- ability to follow oral and written instructions

Job Duties
- Greet guests and present menus
- inform guests about daily specials and menu changes
- suggest food and beverage options to guests
- take food and beverage orders using order pads or handheld POS system
- process payments and issue receipts
- perform cleaning tasks as directed
- fill in for absent staff when needed
- enter special requirements in POS
- communicate and assist guests with queries
- coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
- serve food and beverages as per order
- ensure guest satisfaction
- respond promptly to additional requests
- bus tables after guests leave
- maintain proper dining experience by delivering items and replenishing utensils
- adhere to grooming and appearance standards
- assist with stocking and maintaining dining room par stock levels
- help other restaurant areas including answering telephones and managing take-out transactions
- close shift on POS terminal
- perform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager
