Job Description

This private chef opportunity is offered by a distinguished family seeking a highly skilled professional to serve their residences in Southampton, NY, Miami, FL, and occasionally New York City. The family consists of two principals and their four children, requiring a chef who can provide top-tier culinary services year-round. The job is a seasonal role with a full commitment during the summer season in Southampton, running from May through mid-October, and a rotational schedule in Miami through the winter months from November to April. The chef will also provide occasional support at the New York City residence throughout the year. This role demands a polished, adaptable individual experienced in fine dining or private service, who can deliver a diverse range of cuisine - from elevated family-style meals to sophisticated, formally plated dinners. Consistency, quality, and presentation are core requirements in the preparation and execution of all meals.

The role involves managing the entire kitchen operation including sourcing ingredients, grocery shopping, and inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The chef will be expected to plan, prepare, and execute daily meals catering to the family’s dietary preferences and specific needs, creating seasonal and balanced menus. In addition, the chef is responsible for supporting small gatherings, entertaining, and special occasions, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to adapt to varying kitchen environments as the position requires frequent travel between residences. Seamless coordination with household staff is essential for smooth meal service and overall kitchen operations. This position offers accommodations in Southampton and Miami, with a competitive salary range between $165,000 and $200,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, sick days, 401K with employer match, and discretionary bonuses based on performance. The candidate should have formal culinary training, previous private chef or fine dining experience, and strong references. The role demands a strong work ethic, professionalism, discretion, and excellent organizational skills, ideally suited for chefs accustomed to the expectations of ultra-high-net-worth households.
