The Assistant Captain role is a front-of-house service position designed to support the Captain in executing seamless and elegant food and beverage service throughout the dining experience. Job Requirements
- prior restaurant service experience as a server required
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- must obtain and maintain any required licenses or certifications as applicable
- CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred
- lifting 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
- walking or standing to a significant degree as well as reaching handling feeling talking hearing and seeing
Job Qualifications
- prior serving experience required
- refined or luxury restaurant experience preferred
- working knowledge of food and beverage service standards and dining room etiquette
- ability to operate POS systems and process guest checks accurately
- ability to take cocktail and dessert orders confidently and professionally
- strong communication skills and attention to detail
- ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dining environment
Job Duties
- support the Captain in delivering a smooth, polished dining experience through attentive service and clear communication
- greet guests courteously and professionally reinforcing a welcoming and attentive atmosphere
- assist in explaining menu items specials and promotions when engaging with guests
- assist in taking and entering cocktails dessert and other beverage orders accurately into the POS system
- repeat orders to guests to ensure clarity and accuracy
- retrieve food and beverage items from the kitchen or bar verify accuracy and presentation and deliver promptly with appropriate accompaniments
- monitor tables for basic guest needs such as beverage refills pacing awareness and table readiness escalating concerns to the Captain as appropriate
