Job Description
Amazon Ads is a leading advertising platform that leverages cutting-edge technology to redefine how customers discover and connect with products and brands on Amazon.com and beyond. As part of Amazon's broader commitment to innovation and customer focus, the Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) team is integral to creating impactful advertising experiences by merging human creativity with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. The team focuses on pushing the boundaries of generative AI to revolutionize the advertising lifecycle, including ad creation, optimization, performance analysis, and customer insights. Amazon Ads prioritizes responsible AI development that supports advertisers’ goals while enhancing the overall shopping experience and marketplace health. This environment cultivates passionate innovators who thrive on solving complex technological challenges and aim to shape the future of advertising using state-of-the-art AI technologies.
The Principal Technical Program Manager role on the SPB Vertical Program team offers a unique opportunity for experienced professionals eager to lead strategic initiatives that monetize vertically targeted business units via advertising. The SPB Vertical Program currently manages three verticals and plans to scale to over ten by 2028. In this senior position, the Technical Program Manager will drive cross-organizational alignment, develop and influence strategic roadmaps, and build scalable mechanisms that will support exponential program growth. The role demands strong technical expertise combined with exceptional program management skills to coordinate efforts across multiple functional teams without direct authority. Responsibilities include managing intake mechanisms for new vertical requests, leading prioritization efforts, resolving execution blockers, and collaborating closely with partners to ensure alignment on shared objectives.
Candidates will also engage in reviewing technical designs, balancing short-term partner needs with the broader system architecture, and leveraging generative AI technologies to automate and enhance program operations. Data-driven insight generation and gap identification will be critical as this role steers efforts to identify new monetization opportunities across verticals. The position offers a comprehensive employment package that includes competitive base salaries ranging from approximately $177,000 to $263,400 annually depending on location, sign-on incentives, restricted stock units, and a rich suite of benefits covering health, retirement, paid time off, and parental leave among others. Amazon’s inclusive and supportive culture empowers employees with the necessary accommodations to succeed from application through onboarding.
This role is ideally suited for professionals with extensive experience in engineering collaboration, technical product and program management, software development, and technological architecture design. The successful candidate will have a blend of deep technical understanding and strategic planning ability, supporting one of Amazon’s fastest growing and most innovative business areas. If you are passionate about leveraging AI and data to create scalable, impactful advertising solutions, and enjoy working in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your influence can drive significant business results, this is an exceptional career opportunity to contribute at the forefront of the digital advertising revolution.
