Job Requirements
- Any combination of education, training, or experience providing required knowledge and skills
- High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years as a Cook IV or entry-level cook in a hotel
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
- Ability to obtain required licenses or certificates
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit continuously for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, or move goods weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate in English effectively
- Compliance with hotel and golf club rules and regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Culinary program training preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Cook IV or similar role in a hotel
- Experience working on the line in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to obtain government required licenses or certificates such as Hawaii Health Card or Liquor Commission Service Permit
- CPR and/or First Aid training preferred
- Knowledge of fundamental line cooking
- Knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
- Basic math skills necessary for recipes, measurements, and portion sizes
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to operate all kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
Job Duties
- Prepare all foods suitable for cooking according to standard recipes to ensure consistency of products to guests
- Visually inspect, select and use food items of the highest quality in menu preparation
- Check and control proper storage of products and portion control of high-cost items
- Keep refrigeration, storage, and work areas clean and compliant with health regulations
- Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and functional
- Prepare requisition forms for supplies and food items
- Employ math skills to prepare items according to recipes
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip and fall accidents
- Move supplies and clean up spills as assigned
- Perform other duties as requested by Executive Chef or supervisors
- Comply with hotel and golf club rules and regulations
