The position of Pr. Food Service Worker at UCI Health plays a vital leadership role within the Nutrition Services team. Reporting directly to the Food Services Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing and directing daily workflow in specific Nutrition Services areas, including kitchen operations, cafeteria management, and patient service areas. As a lead worker, the incumbent prioritizes tasks to ensure efficient service delivery and exceptional customer care. The role also involves handling cashiering duties, where accuracy in managing cash transactions is crucial alongside fostering positive customer relations during assigned shifts. The Pr. Food Service Worker is tasked with ensuring adequate staffing and resolving operational problems to uphold high standards in sanitation and overall customer service. Additionally, this position supports the ongoing development of team members through training and orientation of new Food Service Workers. Duties also include assembling and delivering patient meal trays, preparing special dietary orders tailored to patient needs, and occasionally mixing dietary supplements under direction. The role requires flexibility to work in different locations within the facility and adhere to various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The Pr. Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years prior skilled food preparation or service experience
- skill in balancing currency, coins, checks, and credit card payments
- must be able to meet bonding requirements for cashiering functions
- knowledge and practice of kitchen sanitary control techniques
- ability to work in various locations and on rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- successful completion of FBI fingerprinting process for cash handling compliance
- legal right to work in the United States
