Situated in the 75202 area, Uplift Luna Preparatory plays a vital role in this mission by providing a safe, clean, and comfortable environment where education and student development can thrive.
The role of a Campus Custodian at Uplift Luna Preparatory is critical to maintaining the standards the school upholds. This position is responsible for performing nightly custodial tasks that ensure school personnel, students, and the public have a safe, attractive, and efficient environment in which to work and engage in school activities. The custodian's duties involve routine cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and waste removal, but the role also extends to light maintenance and non-routine tasks including deep cleaning and minor repairs. This comprehensive custodial support is essential in sustaining the operational integrity and appearance of the school’s buildings, facilities, and grounds.
The Campus Custodian must be able to handle a variety of physical and technical tasks. This includes managing custodial equipment, responding to emergencies, and maintaining inventory and supplies. Additionally, this role includes assisting with cafeteria setup and ensuring that both indoor and outdoor school environments are in pristine condition. The work environment can be diverse and sometimes challenging, involving exposure to varying weather conditions and the physical demands of moving equipment and supplies.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in janitorial or building maintenance, preferably with some exposure to a school environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to learn and use computer software and basic office equipment are essential for success. The Campus Custodian must be capable of performing quality control checks and be prepared to respond effectively to issues as they arise.
Overall, this role is well-suited for an individual who values a clean and orderly environment and is committed to supporting the educational mission of Uplift Education by ensuring their campuses reflect this commitment in their maintenance and cleanliness. Emphasizing thoroughness and reliability, the custodian helps foster a positive atmosphere that benefits students, staff, and visitors alike.
