The role of a Prepared Foods Team Member is essential to the core operations of the store’s food service area. Team Members contribute to the preparation, serving, stocking, and sanitation of a diverse selection of hot and cold food products, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza. Beyond food preparation, the role involves sampling products for customers, maintaining food freshness by regularly checking and rotating stock, and ensuring cleanliness and safety in the work and shopping environment. Individuals in this position also support inventory control through tasks such as spoilage tracking and assisting with periodic inventory audits.

Prepared Foods Team Members must be team-oriented and customer service focused, regularly engaging with customers to meet their needs promptly and effectively while employing suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Ability to perform motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior retail experience required

Job Duties

  • Cuts and prepares a variety of hot and cold foods including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salad, and pizza
  • Samples products to customers
  • Stocks hot and cold cases and displays with prepared foods from kitchen, walk-in preparation, and refrigerators
  • Checks in-stock product dates to ensure freshness and rotates when necessary
  • Bails and consolidates recyclables
  • Assists Team Leader in organizing and displaying volume and seasonal items
  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required
