Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- able to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour shift
- use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
- capable of bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
- exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
- ability to work in temperature conditions up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
- ability to work in wet and dry conditions
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays
- must be able to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and heavy machinery
- may require use of ladders
- willing to arrive on time and maintain professional grooming
- able to comply with Whole Foods Market health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to work as part of a team
- passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market
- basic understanding of quality and preparation standards
- ability to follow directions and procedures
- effective time management and organization skills
- willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- experience in customer service or food preparation is a plus but not required
Job Duties
- Assist with production for all prepared foods venues
- ensure all prepared foods are properly labeled, dated, initialed, covered, and rotated
- ensure products meet Whole Foods Market guidelines for quality and preparation
- document waste and spoilage using appropriate forms
- ensure product production follows correct measuring devices and recipes
- help customers understand differences between Whole Foods Market products and conventional store products
- keep walk-ins and freezers clean and well-organized
- arrive to work station on time, appropriately groomed and ready to work
- provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, model suggestive selling techniques
- maximize sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising
- follow and ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety procedures
- maintain clean and sanitary working and shopping environments
- perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
- ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
- immediately report safety hazards and violations
